Patient Corner

All rates listed on the Pacific Beach Acupuncture website are a “time of service” discounted rate for patients paying out of pocket as I want everyone without insurance to be able to afford awesome care. Please text or email me if you have any questions at all.

What to do before your session:

1. Always eat before coming in. Acupuncture lowers blood sugar so it’s very important to have eaten a light meal at most 1 hour before each session.
2. Wear loose clothing to facilitate accessibility to points and to ensure your comfort through the session.
3. No alcohol and avoid coffee before the session.
4. Download and fill out our intake form.

What to Expect at Your First Acupuncture Session

The first time you come in to Pacific Beach Acupuncture, expect to fill out paperwork and sit down with me for a chat. I want to know what is going on with you, how your body works and how you view it. I will feel your pulse, look at your tongue and ask a few questions.

All of this will help me to develop a treatment plan that is unique to you. It includes the consultation, acupuncture treatment and/or moxa, cupping and gua sha – depending on your specific needs.

Please remember that helping the body to heal naturally takes time. The more acute (newer) a condition is, usually the easier it is to treat. So if you’re dealing with a chronic and /or life long ailment, please realize it may take time. But I do expect to see changes and improvements right away.
